Darren Gillman finished less than 10 seconds outside his PB when completing the Abingdon Marathon in 3:46:00 at the week-end. A week earlier, Stuart Mead recorded yet another club record when finishing in 1:17:48 and 29th position at the Peterborough Half. Inspired by this, Mike Ellis blasted to a new club record for the same distance at this week-end’s Cardiff Half in a time of 1:16:42 for 33rd place with Dawn Clark returning to form in 1:33:15 followed by Jude Baum, 1:49:13 (8th in category) and Jane Medwell 2:21:11. Ensuring no resting on laurels, Richard Brangwin knocked nearly 6 minutes of his PB at the  Birmingham Half to record a time 1:26:24 followed by Chris McCarthy 1:28:22, Tim Stooks 1:30:24 and Nigel Fox 1:46:17. At Sunday’s Welcombe Wobbler 10K in Stratford, Richard Bicknell came home in 46:33, Jackie Lindsay took 2nd Female prize in 47:21 with brother Dave just pipping Simon Pullen in 48:23 and 48:25 respectively.  Over at the Birmingham University 5K, Trevor Wilkinson did 18:05 followed by wife Carolyn 19:45 and 1st F35 edging out John McNally in 19:51. Tempo Tuesday

Leave from the club 6.45pm. 3 mile warm-up to Lillington. 4 miles at Tempo (running hard between half-marathon and 10k race pace). 2 miles cool down. This gives you 9 miles with 4 of them hard. New runners always very welcome.

New Runners Night
August 3, 2010 (19:00)
2/3 mile steady run. All abilities welcome. Each run is led by an experienced runner and no-one is left behind. A good way to get fitter and makes a great 'lead-up' to a Wednesday or Monday session if you have never run before.
