Eight Spa Striders decided to launch a pre-emptive strike on those excess Christmas calories by turning up for a 3.47 mile race from the Avon Tavern in Warwick. It was a beautiful sunny morning for the 10.30am start. The route was flat and ice free, thanks to a diversion through St. Nicholas's car park.

Mike Ellis was first Strider home in 5th place and Carolyn Wilkinson was first female Strider (and 2nd lady in the race), finishing in 21st position overall.....Full Results:

5 Mike Ellis 18.47 20 Trevor Wilkinson 21.58 21 Carolyn Wilkinson 22.05 22 John McNally 22.09 28 Dawn Clark 23.06 34 Neil Ford 24.29 36 Richard Bicknell 24.42 38 Michael Barrolk 25.07

Terry Bright was also our official supporter, capturing the scene on his super-duper camera. Check 'The All New Gallery' for photos.

Club Night
August 2, 2010 (19:30)
Monday night club 'muster' run from the club house. There will be groups going off at various paces, no-one left behind, but expect to run between 5 and 9 miles. Summer Route to be announced on the night.

Tempo Tuesday
August 3, 2010 (18:45)
Leave from the club 6.45pm. 3 mile warm-up to Lillington. 4 miles at Tempo (running hard between half-marathon and 10k race pace). 2 miles cool down. This gives you 9 miles with 4 of them hard. New runners always very welcome.

New Runners Night
August 3, 2010 (19:00)
2/3 mile steady run. All abilities welcome. Each run is led by an experienced runner and no-one is left behind. A good way to get fitter and makes a great 'lead-up' to a Wednesday or Monday session if you have never run before.
