In very wet weather, lone Strider Chris McCarthy completed 15142 metres to finish in 3rd place in the Leamington C & AC one hour track race. The recent Rugby Sprint Triathlon was held in far more favourable conditions with Tony Holt 1st Strider home in 1:04:45 followed by Rich Sykes, 1:05:03, Liam Godbert-Brown, 1:06:01 and 1st U20, Bethan Gwynn, 1:13:09 (3rd in category), Jerry Shapley, 1:13:40, John Burden, 1:15:25 and Jenny Gilpin, 1:18:43. Rowena Neunhoffer did the swim and running disciplines as part of a relay team before completing the whole individual event to win her age category and finish 4th female overall in a time of 1:07:22. Moving up the extreme scale, Darren Gillman completed the Trail Running Association Ridgeway Challenge from Ivinghoe Beacon in the Chilterns to the National Trust Study Centre in Avebury, near Marlborough, a mind boggling 85 miles and 9000 feet of ascent in a PB(!) 23hrs 45 minutes!
