How has Covid-19 affected the Club?
Please visit our Covid-19 page to find out the latest position.
How much does membership cost?
The normal price for annual membership is around £65 but for the 2020/21 Strider year (that runs to 31 May 2021), the subs are just £45, reflecting our restricted offering during the Coronavirus pandemic.
How far do you run?
A (pre-Covid) typical Monday night club run may be anything between 6 and 9 miles. However, many of the other runs may be longer or shorter depending on the objectives of the session. Make sure that you check the distance on our events calendar before joining a session. There are often multiple options in a run to give you different distance if you need it.
What do I need to do to run with you?
Normally, you’d need to register online first as a Guest and then enjoy 4 weeks of running prior to joining. Our Covid-19 arrangements are a bit different. If you register as a Guest you’ll be updated on when we can accept Guests back to the Club. Alternatively, you can just join and enjoy the emerging activity as we learn to run with Covid-19.
Where do you normally meet?
At the Leamington Lawn Tennis & Squash Club
Guy’s Cliffe Avenue
What should I wear?
It depends on the weather but shorts/leggings and short sleeve/long sleeve top should be fine. Please wear something bright and reflective if it’s dark. Sports specific wicking material is best. Running specific trainers are required.
Will I be too slow? / What if I can’t keep up?
The club has runners across the entire spectrum of abilities. Whatever your pace you will fit in somewhere.
Am I too old / young?
Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome to join. There is no upper limit and we have runners of all ages between 20–70.
Can anyone join the Club?
You can join as long as you are eligible as defined by the governing bodies to which the club is affiliated (England Athletics), are 18 and over, support the purpose of the club as outlined in our Club Rules and have no conflicting membership with any other club.
If you are younger than 18 and wish to train with a club, Leamington C&AC have an excellent youth section.
Can I join as a second claim member?
Although at the discretion of the Committee, this is normally ok – just speak to us on your first visit.
