FAQ

How much does membership cost?
The Strider membership year runs from 1st June to 31st May the following year. Annual membership is currently £51.

How far do you run?
A typical Monday night club run may be anything between three and nine miles.  Wednesday sessions are typically shorter as they concentrate on speed and vary between hills and interval-type sessions.  The sessions page gives an idea of distance and how frequently we run.  There are often multiple options in a run to give you different distance if you need it.

What do I need to do to run with you?
You can simply register online to join, or if you want to give us a try first and enjoy four weeks of running prior to joining, you can join as a guest. You will get a full four-week guest membership of the club starting on the day you submit the form and will receive an email with all the details within 24 hours (including the app you need to download). You can sign up for full membership on the app at any time during this period.

Where do you normally meet?
At the Leamington Lawn Tennis & Squash Club, but venues do vary.

Guy’s Cliffe Avenue
Leamington Spa
CV32 6LZ

What should I wear?
It depends on the weather, but shorts/leggings and short sleeve/long sleeve top should be fine. Please wear something bright and reflective if it’s dark.  Sports specific wicking material is best. Running specific trainers are required.

Will I be too slow? / What if I can’t keep up?
The club has runners across the entire spectrum of abilities. Whatever your pace, there will be a session to meet your requirements, and nobody gets left behind!

Am I too old / young?
Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome to join. There is no upper limit and we have runners of all ages between 20 and 70.

Can anyone join the Club?
You can join as long as you are eligible as defined by the governing bodies to which the club is affiliated (England Athletics), are 18 and over, support the purpose of the club as outlined in our Club Rules and have no conflicting membership with any other club.
If you are younger than 18 and wish to train with a club, Leamington C&AC has an excellent youth section.

Can I join as a second claim member?
Although at the discretion of the Committee, this is normally ok – just speak to us on your first visit.
